There are a few important factors to be taken into account when considering to purchase a bedskirt.
Drop Size
Before going to purchase a bedskirt make sure that you know your bedskirt drop size. The drop size is the distance from the top of the box springs to the ground. The standard bedskirt drop size is 15 inches, but deeper drops are available. You may find that your bedskirt drop size is non-standard and difficult to get in this case it's best to get a custom bedskirt made.
Color
The color depends alot on the other fabric colors that you are using to you bed and in your room, and the bedskirt gives you the opportunity to add extra color depth to your room. Remember though, you may be able to see through a light color with poor weave.
Fabric
Like any fabric that most important thing is the thread count. The higher the thread count the better the quality and this will hide your under bed area better. Of course higher thread count will also be more expensive, so ensure that the fabric is of a decent quality if your on a tighter budget. Look out for good quality fabrics like chenille, velvet, cotton chintz or matelasse.
Style
The style, like the color, depends on the color scheme that's on the bed and iin the room. Bedskirts can use patterned fabrics as well as solid color fabrics, so experiment with both to get the right one. Ensure that you iron the bedskirt before you put it up, just so it looks perfect.
